CORR Tomcat 88
The CORR Tomcat 88" is a constantly evolving vehicle, built in 2005 as a college project it is about to enter its third season of safari racing. The vehicle is based on a shortened and modified Range Rover chassis, with a Tomcat Motorsport full spaceframe providing the roll over protection and bodywork mounting points. For the chassis to accept the Tomcat frame the wheel base was shortened from 100” to 88”. All other outriggers and body mountings were then removed from the chassis prior to the space frame being fitted.

The engine is a 3.9 V8i mounted 150mm back to improve weight distribution. The serpentine front end has been modified to use remote oil filter and cooler to clear the front diff. The engine is also fitted with an MSD Ignition system and an MSD Pro Billet Distributor, the Magnetic Trigger type distributor works with MSD Ignition unit to replace the old points system. It features adjustable mechanical advance for fine tuning the advance curve. High power multiple sparks ensure complete combustion under the harshest conditions. The unit also features an adjustable Soft Touch rev limiter with plug in RPM modules.
